Last week, we asked our Hit House community what women-owned businesses mean the most to them. The response was so overwhelming, we separated the responses into NYC & BK. This is what they said:
• @booksaremagicbk [an independent bookstore in Cobble Hill that carries interesting & hard to find books, opened by best selling author @emmastraub 📚]
• @brooklyncupcake [founded by sisters, expect Puerto Rican & Italian flavors “with BK” attitude: must try Flan, Tres Leches, Rainbow Cookie & Coquito ]
• @brownbutternyc [Bed-Stuy cafe from cake maker — and self-proclaimed cake lover — Myriam Nicolas: must have the golden biscuits ✨]
• @compassvintage [fun vintage gens curated by @nieshaforbes]
• @fanfandoughnuts [James Besrd nominee Fany creates doughnuts you’ll dream about: try the ‘White Coffee’ 🍩]
• @haenyeobk [named after the legendary female divers from the Jeju Islands, expect “playful” Korean classics & seafood dishes from James Beard Semifinalist Jenny Kwak: don’t miss the ‘Rice Cake Fundido’]
• @knockout.ny [self-defense, but made super cute & discrete by ring designer @katecdavis 💥]
• @louisegoods [owner Beka designs, cuts, punches, rivers, sews — you get the idea — these fine leather goods by hand in her BK studio: the Palmetto bucket is a favorite & an essential 👜]
• @parkslopeyoga [a cheerful, welcoming studio offering traditional & modern yoga & pilates practices]
• @thepawfectpatch [maybe we are biased — because @rocknerd33 — but every pet owner needs a custom patch of their furry friend 🐶 🐱]
• @shalomjapan [Jewish & Japanese fusion in South Williamsburg, offering creative small plates in a low-key atmosphere: don’t miss the ‘Sake Kasu Challah with Raisin Butter’]
• @traifny [“celebrate pork” during this “multiple course adventure” in Williamsburg”]
• @wearsoftwear [comfortable & sustainable athleisure from founder @sabrina.zohar — workout in a cloud ☁️]
